Often as a consumer you will only get to see the final selected logo for your favourite brands or businesses. However, it is the graphic designers job when putting together a logo package for the client to offer up several different versions of a logo in order for the client to be able to differentiate on what they like versus what just isn't working.

Whilst the designer might create 4 different versions of a logo for the client to review, often the designer has a preference that the client just won't like as much as the others. In this case the client decided that the above simpler version of the logo was a much better choice for their brand. Whereas myself as a designer found the 3 colour version to be much more appealing. this is an important point to make as designers have a duty to listen to the clients needs and wants which sometimes means pushing aside their own preferences.
